So do swing by, let the rhythm take you, muse away by the campfire, get a head of salty hair en collect some sand in your speedo’s. It is a combination of doing what your gut tells you to do and just letting people be.īut enough talk about Woodstock! There are not enough words to describe what happens on our little biotope. First timers often have to get used to the laid-back and loose environment, but you truly have a heart of stone to stay unaffected by the freedom Woodstock offers you. On a sultry weeknight people will go crazy on the syrtaki and continue throwing there hips in the wind on a drum solo of a couple of African drummers and off course the one and only Steef himself. Inside you’ll be dancin’ your socks off with true ravers, at the bonfire you will hear the life story of a pilgrim with a knapsack and make friends for life. So whether you look like a smooth criminal or a bum, you are always welcome and your stay will always be pleasant. Like real pirates we sail the unknown seas, we don’t comply to any rules and we prefer to swim against the stream. The power of permissiveness seems to prove itself over and over again. The playground is still open, so don’t be surprised to find the whole personnel dressed up in rabbit suits on a weekday or be in the middle of a spontaneous jam session on the terrace. But the no-nonsense mentality hasn’t changed over the past 25 plus years. With it’s very involved staff, good kitchen and, off course, amazing deco. Over the years Woodstock became a well-organized machine and a name known all over the world. Chillin’ in a tipi and dancing under the starry sky seemed to be a gift from heaven. People from all walks of life found their way to this unique spot. Right from the start there appeared to be a huge need for a place like Woodstock. This didn’t stay unnoticed, to say the least. And with two containers, a beer tap and a leaky football, Foundation Woodstock – Foundation for Sports, Games and the distribution of Love – was born. A place with good vibes, where you can enjoy great music, nice people, and off course: sun, sea and sand.Īfter a long period of insisting at the city municipality’s office the three gentlemen got a spot assigned on the beach of Bloemendaal. Where it doesn’t matter what clothes you wear or what car you drive, as long as you feel relaxed and are happy with that. Where it isn’t important what you are or what you do, but who you are is. They wanted to create a place where everybody would feel at home. The bill came and they charged us for the coffee!!! So disappointed.More then 25 years ago, 3 friends from Zandvoort had a dream. We explained our dissatisfaction in the service, she was apologetic, and offered us a dessert, which we declined but said we would have a coffee. The waitress came over and asked how our meal was. My partner didn’t get his sauce he ordered and having asked where it was still didn’t get it. Was asked when we would like our main meal and said 10 mins. We then ordered our meals at the same time, our starters come but still no drink so we had to ask where they were. Never been disappointed with food or the amazing sunsets, however the service we received on our last visit was terrible! We had to ask for a waiter to come over and take our drinks order - after waiting for about twenty minutes. I have been going to Muse for several years now. Most staff are fabulous so not too much of an issue just speak up if you need. You may have to remind your server if your order is taking an unusually long time. Service is hit and miss but generally good. If driving there is plenty of parking to the right as you approach but also left round the back too. It is set in Khtma upper Paphos just behind the Axiothea Hotel.The setting is perfect and even on hot days there is generally a breeze but also powerful fans are used if needed.The shading is extensive in summer and less as the season rolls round.This is a very popular place with locals and is slightly hidden so most people who go seek it out or are locals.The prices are reasonable to expensive ( for the regular tourist) but it is affordable and many times in Cyprus it is recognised that people share food there will be extra cutlery brought if you wish to.Servings are big so this is frequent occurrence and not frowned upon.Breakfast is good with an English if required and the cocktails drinks and snacks for later are varied and good.This is a great place to relax and some fab pics up at Muse.
